Privacy

This is the privacy policy for theninanoir.com, a personal website written and published by Nina Nolan. It describes what the site collects, why, and what you can ask for. It is deliberately short, because the site does very little.

If you only read the site

You can read everything here without giving anything. No account is needed and none is offered. The web server keeps standard request logs, including your IP address, for security and troubleshooting; these are kept by the hosting provider and are not used to build any profile of you.

No analytics cookies are set until you choose to accept them.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which writing is read. It runs in consent mode with every category denied by default. Nothing is stored on your device and no identifiers are collected unless you accept analytics in the privacy panel at the foot of the page. If you decline, or simply ignore it, Google receives only an anonymous, cookieless signal that a page was viewed.

You can change your mind at any time from the same panel.

If you write to me

The contact page gives an email address. If you write, I receive your address and whatever you put in the message, and I keep it for as long as the correspondence is useful. I do not add you to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.

What the site does not do

There is no newsletter, no membership, no user accounts, no forum and no comments. Nothing is sold here. There is no advertising and no advertising network. Your data is never sold or shared for marketing.

Third parties

Two other companies are involved in running the site: the hosting provider, which stores the site and its logs, and Google, which provides analytics under the consent conditions above. Links out to Instagram, Threads, TikTok, Facebook and Ko-fi are ordinary links; those companies have their own policies, and this one stops at the edge of this site.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EU you can ask what data relating to you exists here, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use. In practice that will usually mean an email you sent me. Write to the address on the contact page and I will answer.

You also have the right to complain to your data protection regulator. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
